1995 Ridge Paso Robles California (750ml)

It is a deep, ripe, full-bodied wine with copious quantities of fruit, low acidity, moderate tannin, and a fleshy, nicely-textured mouthfeel. It should drink well for 7-8 years.

1996 Turley Grist California (750ml)

Robert Parker 92
"The 1996 Zinfandel Grist Vineyard, which emerges from Dry Creek, tips the scales at a blockbuster 16.3% alcohol. This wine offers lusty levels of lavishly jammy black cherry fruit intermixed with raspberries, pepper, earth, and spice. Wow, what an astonishing level of pleasure this huge, massive Zin provides! It is a wine to drink over the next 5-8 years."

1997 Turley Duarte California (750ml)

$125.00
FREE shipping on 6 bottles or more. See all qualified wines
Robert Parker 90
"The 1997 Zinfandel Duarte Vineyard (from 102-year old vines; 15.4% alcohol) is the finest wine I have tasted from this source. Duarte is one of the few remaining California vineyards where the vines are planted on their own roots, rather than being grafted, as the region's sandy soils have proved to be resistant to the phylloxera disease. This wine always seems to have a dusty, balsam wood, Provencal herb, peppery note, but the 1997 reveals more cherry liqueur and black raspberries. Additionally, the color is a saturated dark ruby/purple. Full-bodied and concentrated, with deep layers of flavor that inundate the palate, it should drink well for 5-7 years."

1998 Turley Delinquent California (375ml)

$80.00
FineWine International
Late harvest style. 10% residual sugar. Alcohol 19%

1998 Turley Hayne Vineyard California (750ml)

Robert Parker 91-93
"There are 450 cases of the dark ruby/purple-colored 1998 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard. Made in a sexy, open-knit style, it displays copious quantities of kirsch/cherry fruit intermixed with minerals, pepper, licorice, and Asian spices. Full-bodied with a viscous texture, gorgeous purity, and remarkable symmetry for such a massive effort, this low acid, fleshy wine should be drunk during its first 6-7 years of life."
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 91-93
Good medium ruby-red. Aromatic, musky nose of raspberry, espresso, bitter chocolate and pepper. Sweet, fat and lush, with harmonious ripe acidity. Firmly minerally in the middle and broad on the back half, finishing with spice and licorice notes and a hint of exotic fruit. Finishes with noticeable wood tannins.

1998 Turley Tofanelli Vineyard California (750ml)

$55.00
Robert Parker 91
"The dark ruby/garnet-colored, full-bodied 1998 Zinfandel Tofanelli Vineyard exhibits spice box and berry fruit aromas and flavors, a sweet luscious texture, soft, low acidity, and gorgeous voluptuousness."

1999 Turley Grist California (750ml)

$80.00
Robert Parker 90
The 1999 Zinfandel Grist Vineyard (350 cases, 15.3% alcohol), reveals cherry liqueur and sandalwood notes in addition to a voluptuous texture, admirable fat and succulence, exceptionally ripe fruit, low acidity, and excellent length. A compelling wine has been produced from the tiny, 2-acre Vineyard 101.
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 90
Dullish ruby-red. Closed nose hints at exotic dark berries, dark chocolate and earth. Dense but somewhat clenched, with roasted, briary berry flavors of moderate complexity. A distinctly harder, drier style than the Duarte, but finishes with very good ripeness.

1999 Turley, Juvenile California (750ml)

$75.00
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 88
Bright dark ruby. Roasted cranberry, licorice candy, orange peel and violet on the nose. Thick and sweet, with good stuffing and ripeness and moderate complexity. Finishes with dusty tannins. Very good for what it is.

2000 Turley Hayne Vineyard California (750ml)

$135.00
FREE shipping on 6 bottles or more. See all qualified wines
Robert Parker 93
..it possesses the greatest texture and intensity of all these Zinfandels in addition to a dense opaque garnet color, and a sweet, concentrated blackberry and raspberry-scented bouquet with hints of pepper, earth, and wood. A wine of enormous fruit, body, and palate-staining extact, it should drink well for a decade.

2000 Turley Old Vines California (750ml)

$80.00
Robert Parker 91
The 2000 Zinfandel Old Vines reveals a macerated, sweet jammy cherry-scented bouquet, loads of glycerin, and soft, low acid, plum/prune flavors displaying hints of balsam wood and pepper. It is a luscious Zin to enjoy over the next 5-6 years.

2000 Turley Tofanelli Vineyard California (750ml)

$85.00
Wine- Maker Notes
"Since 1995, we have been working with Vince and Pauline Tofanelli and their wonderful vineyard. The 2000 Zinfandel is a full-bodied wine with fruit-driven and floral aromas, a hint of spice, soft tannins and a cherry finish. The Tofanellis have been farming their vineyard for three generations. Their on going commitment to quaility grape growing is a cornerstone of our success."
Robert Parker 91
Aromas of black cherries macerated in brandy jump from the glass of this candied, ripe, medium to full-bodied, luscious effort. It comes across as Burgundian-like in its flesh and red fruit character.
Wine Enthusiast 92
zippy bright in texture but also lush and round on the palate, the wine offers a fine multidimensional drinking experience. Smooth tannins support a core of cherry, spice, anise, raspberry, cedar and sice flavors, all seamlessly intergrated. Finishes long and rich.

2000 Turley Vineyard 101 California (750ml)

$90.00
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 89
Medium dullish red. Cherry, raspberry, dark chocolate and a meaty note on the nose. Supple and fat on entry, then a bit less sweet in the middle than on the nose and the wine's 16.6% alcohol would suggest. Rather cool flavors of strawberry liqueur and mint. Slightly dry on the finish.
Robert Parker 87
"Moderate levels of sweet and sour cherries, currants, minerals, and earth are present in the restrained, perfumed, elegant, dark ruby-colored 2000 Zinfandel Vineyard 101 (125 cases). For a Larry Turley/Ehren Jordan offering, it plays it close to the vest."

2002 Benessere, BK Collins Vineyard Old Vine California (750ml)

$26.00
FineWine International
The BK Collins Zinfandel comes from an 80 year old vineyard that once was part of the famed Aida vineyard. Turley is also using fruit from this vineyard as well but the Benessere wine is in a very different style. The 2002 Benessere BK Collins Zinfandel is classic claret style that harkens back to and older era when Zinfandel was meant for enjoying with food. There is lots of fresh bright red raspberry fruit mingled with black pepper and spice in this wine and not a trace of heat in the finish. This is a Zinfandel to enjoy in its youth when it is at its most exhuberant.

2002 Benessere, Black Glass Vineyard California (750ml)

$35.00
FineWine International
The 2002 Benessere Black Glass Zinfandel is a deeply flavored wine exhibiting classic spice and dark fruit flavors without a trace of heaviness or heat. It is one of the purest expressions of real Zinfandel that we have encountered in recent years. It is enormously seductive now but we suspect a few additional years of cellaring should bring out even more of its multi-dimensional flavors. Less than 300 cases of this gem were produced.

2002 Turley Old Vines California (750ml)

$72.00
Robert Parker 89-91
The 2002 Zinfandel Old Vines is a blend of lots that did not make the grade for the single vineyard offerings. No wimpy wine at 16.4% alcohol, it exhibits deep, jammy black fruits intermixed with saddle leather, pepper, and earth. With an unctuous texture as well as a big, chewy finish, it is a robust, mouthfilling, value-priced Zinfandel to enjoy over the next 3-5 years.

2002 Turley Vineyard 101 California (750ml)

$85.00
Robert Parker 90-92
There are only 175 cases of the 2002 Zinfandel Vineyard 101 (15.4% alcohol). Sweet kirsch liqueur notes intertwined with licorice, sandstone, balsam wood, and spice emerge from this surprisingly elegant, medium to full-bodied 2002. Once again, amazing purity of fruit, a hallmark of this producer, is present. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.

2002 Turley, Pesenti Vineyard California (750ml)

$90.00
Robert Parker 92-94
The 2002 Zinfandel Pesenti Estate, from a 50-year old site planted on pure limestone, tastes like a classic Chateauneuf du Pape made from Grenache. The 16% alcohol is well-concealed in this 700-case cuvee. A deep ruby color is accompanied by sumptuous aromatics of kirsch liqueur kissed with melted licorice, pepper, and spice. There is tremendous precision, surprisingly good acidity (thanks to the limestone soils), and a heady, rich, full-bodied, impressive finish. This is the finest example yet fashioned from the Pesenti Estate. It will drink well for 5-8 years.

2003 Ravenswood, Old Hill California (750ml)

$45.00
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 91-93
There are actually more than 16 varieties planted in this old vineyard, which dates back to the middle of the 19th century, and was replanted in 1884 following phylloxera) Good bright ruby-red. Aromas of black raspberry, mocha, tar, brown spices, menthol and black licorice; rather claret-like. Dense and thick on entry, then extremely primary and closed in the middle, but already showing lovely spicy lift and inner-mouth perfume. An infant of a zinfandel, with the strong acidity and substantial ripe tannins to ensure a slow evolution in bottle. This will grow spicier over the years. The grenache in this vineyard was thoroughly ripe in 2003, and comprises an unusually high 5% of the blend.

2004 C.G. Diarie California (750ml)

$17.00
Wine- Maker Notes
Most of the grapes used for this wine come from a hillside vineyard in Amador County farmed by Vicki Delpart. My style of wine is fully extracted with fruit forward, good balance, a complex mid-palate and a long lingering finish. <p> This Zinfandel meets all the criteria of my style of wine. It is well balanced with deep color and typical varietal flavor and aroma. The dark berry flavors progress in the mid-palate to cherry and plum and the bold finish of chocolate lingers pleasantly long after the wine is consumed

2004 Hartford, Fanucchi Vineyard California (750ml)

$50.00
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 92
from 98-year-old vines) Full medium ruby. Blackberry, smoke, flint, espresso and a whiff of meat on the slightly reduced nose. Lush, layered and rich, with densely packed flavors of raspberry and roast coffee complicated by a saline nuance. Finishes with substantial broad tannins, liqueur-like notes of wild strawberry and raspberry, and a note of dark chocolate. Firm acids give this shape and grip.
Robert Parker 94
Although this cuvee was freshly bottled the week I tasted it, it performed fabulously well. The 2004 Zinfandel Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard, from vines planted in 1906, boasts a dense saturated ruby/purple color, and a big, peppery, sweet nose of black cherries, raspberries, licorice, forest floor, and underbrush. This spicy Zinfandel possesses abundant richness, concentration, and intensity. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. The Zinfandels, fashioned from old head-pruned Russian River vineyards, are 100% destemmed, but as many whole berries as possible are utilized in the wines¿ fermentations, and the wines are aged in French oak. In terms of complexity, richness, and quality, Hartford Court's Zins rank alongside those of Turley Wine Cellars.

2004 Hartford, Highwire Vineyard California (750ml)

$50.00
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 89
Bright, deep red-ruby. Crushed redcurrant, dark plum and blackberry on the nose. Suave and silky but serious in the mouth, but with a bit less definition to the dark plum and cherry flavors than the Fanucchi-Wood wine displays. Finishes a bit edgy and not at all overly sweet, with hints of peppery spices, licorice and herbs.
Robert Parker 91
Although this cuvee was freshly bottled the week I tasted it, it performed fabulously well. The dark ruby/purple-colored 2004 Zinfandel Highwire Vineyard (a 96-year old vineyard) boasts copious quantities of blackberry, licorice, peppery, briery fruit and spice, good underlying acidity, and a full-throttle, blockbuster finish. Consume it over the next 7-8 years. The Zinfandels, fashioned from old head-pruned Russian River vineyards, are 100% destemmed, but as many whole berries as possible are utilized in the wines¿ fermentations, and the wines are aged in French oak. In terms of complexity, richness, and quality, Hartford Court¿s Zins rank alongside those of Turley Wine Cellars.

2004 Turley, Pesenti Vineyard California (750ml)

$70.00
Robert Parker 90-93
From Paso Robles' limestone soils, the 2004 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard could pass for a Grenache-based southern Rhone with its striking minerality, pepper and kirsch liqueur-like notes. Full-bodied, but remarkably fresh (thanks to the limestone), it possesses 16+% alcohol, but that component is well-concealed by the wine's fruit and structure. It should drink well for a decade.

2005 Montelena California (750ml)

$30.00
Robert Parker 87
The 2005 Zinfandel is a success in this very challenging year for this varietal (not enough heat, which Zinfandel must have to ripen fully). The wine has good fruit, a leaner style, and a more elegant personality. Perhaps readers who never liked Zinfandel because of its powerful briery blast of fruit may take a liking to these more down-scaled, lighter 2005s.
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 88
Good full red. Brambly red berries, cola and chocolate on the nose, plus a suggestion of roasted fruits. Supple, sweet and creamy, with just enough acidity and soft tannins to frame its fat fruit. Perfect for early consumption.

2005 Turley Old Vines California (750ml)

$75.00
Robert Parker 90-92
"The outstanding 2005 Zinfandel Old Vines, basically a blend of old vine parcels that are not big enough to be sold individually, reveals a dark plum/ruby color, oodles of sweet cherry, plum, licorice, pepper, and spicy characteristics, medium to full body, and a fleshy, generous, well-endowed personality."

2006 Turley Dragon Vineyard California (750ml)

$85.00
Robert Parker 91-93
One of my favorites is the 2006 Zinfandel Dragon Vineyard, which is actually from some of the younger vines that Turley bottles separately. This Howell Mountain offering tips the scales at nearly 16% alcohol and offers a southern Rhone Valley-like notes of lavender, kirsch liqueur, pepper, spice, and loads of blackberry and sweet cherry fruit. The wine has decent acidity, ripe tannin, and a long, heady finish. This is a seductive, complex, and beautiful Zinfandel.
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 92
Good medium ruby. Black raspberry, spices and fruity pepper on the slightly medicinal nose. Ripe, lush and mouthfilling but quite dry; a big, chewy wine with a deep pepper-and-spice character. Finishes with very suave, pliant tannins.

2006 Turley Duarte California (750ml)

$65.00
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 90
Deep red. Peppery, slightly high-toned aromas of raspberry and nutty oak, with hints of exotic fruits. Supple on entry, then rather closed in the middle, with a distinctive flavor of fruity peppercorn. Finishes dry-edged and pungent. An intriguing style, but not for those who expect a mouthful of fresh berries from their zinfandels.

2006 Turley Old Vines California (750ml)

$52.00
Robert Parker 88-90
The 2006 Zinfandel Old Vines, which is a blend of old-vine parcels that are too small to be sold as single-vineyards, has a deeper ruby color, with hints of roasted herbs, pepper, nori (seaweed wrapper) intermixed with black cherry, raspberry, plum, and some spice. It is a fleshy wine with loads of fruit, medium to full body, and a supple texture.
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 88
Good ruby-red. Smoke and mocha on the nose, along with some slightly porty, earthy low tones. Fat, creamy and sweet, conveying an impression of alcohol and slight heaviness. A broad and rather powerful wine that's not currently showing much fruit. It's hard to imagine this getting more interesting in bottle.

2006 Turley Rattlesnake Ridge California (750ml)

$80.00
Robert Parker 89-91
At 15.9% alcohol, one wouldn¿t expect a Zinfandel with a Pinot Noir character to it, but the 2006 Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge from the cool upper elevations of Howell Mountain displays a lighter style, medium body, a fragrant, up-front, almost Pinot Noir-like delicacy, but some real strength in the background. This is not one of the bigger Zinfandels despite the high alcohol, and in fact it seems to be finesse-styled. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 90
Good saturated red-ruby. Reticent aromas of red berries and oak. Supple, creamy and sweet, but with a juicy quality and good lift to the raspberry and pepper flavors. Finishes with broad, dusty tannins. This could only be zinfandel.

2006 Turley Salvador Vineyard California (750ml)

$70.00
Robert Parker 90-92
From a vineyard planted in the late 1890s, the 2006 Zinfandel Salvador Vineyard has plenty of loamy soil notes, berry fruit, spice box, roasted herb, and meatiness. It¿s a big wine, rich, but also supple. It should drink well for 5-7 years.
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 92
Larry Turley has been buying these grapes since 1995, but this is the first time this fruit has been bottled by itself; 16.3% alcohol) Good deep, bright red. Aromas of blueberry, licorice and spicy oak. Spicy and densely packed, conveying a strong impression of extract and a piquant note of orange peel. Superripe and highly concentrated wine, finishing with very well buffered tannins. This vineyard dates back to the 1890s.

2006 Turley, Mead Ranch California (750ml)

$70.00
Robert Parker 88-90
The 2006 Zinfandel Mead Ranch is from the cooler Atlas Peak area of southern Napa. The wine has great fruit, full body, loads of cassis, and briery raspberry notes intermixed with some pepper, soil undertones, and underbrush. The wine has fabulous ripeness, full body, and a long finish.
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 89
Bright, deep red. Superripe, porty aromas of mocha, molasses and nuts. Fat, sweet and creamy but a bit over the top. This big, thick, peppery wine finishes with considerable power and strong tannins. I find this rather awkward.
