Made from a vineyard planted in 1946, the light golden-colored, dry 1994 Gewurztraminer Herrenweg Turckheim achieved 15.1% alcohol naturally. More backward than some of the other Gewurztraminers, this is a wine with a peppery, spicy, floral, lychee nut-scented nose, great ripeness and fruit, full body, amazing length, and superb purity without any of the funky Gewurztraminer characteristics that can develop when this degree of ripeness is achieved. It should age magnificently for 10-15+ years.

1994 Humbrecht Riesling, Clos St Urbain (750ml)

Robert Parker 98
The 1994 Riesling Rangen Clos St.-Urbain was made from yields of just over one ton per acre (17 hectoliters per hectare). It is nearly dry with 14% alcohol. The wine exhibits an awesome nose of powerfully ripe fruit laced with mineral notes. The wine's density, amazing body, and massive intensity and richness, never come across as over-done or ponderous. Fabulously pure and well-focused, it will easily last for another 15-20 years. This is one of the single greatest Rieslings I have ever tasted.

1996 Weinbach Pinot Gris, Sélection des Grains Nobles (375ml)

Wine Spectator 94
Extremely aromatic and pure, displaying apple and pear, this is a supple, elegant, racy SGN, very concentrated. A beautiful expression of the grape and the style. This baby will impress even more in the future.

1998 Humbrecht Gewurztraminer, Clos St Urbain, Tardive (750ml)

$135.00

Robert Parker 97
The superlative 1998 Gewurztraminer Rangen de Thann Clos St. Urbain Vendange Tardive has the amber/gold color of a Selection de Grains Nobles. In the nose, candied oranges, botrytis, red berries, and earth compete for the taster's olfactory attention. A hedonist's delight, this full-bodied, decadently viscous offering is also refreshing to taste. The mouth-feel is tantamount to millions of tiny puffy pillows filled with caramel, cocoa, minerals, candied citrus fruit zests, and lemony stones. Seductive, intricate, and profound, it does not reflect any of its varietal's trademark lychee, rose water, floral scents and flavors. It represents, according to Olivier Humbrecht, "the pure essence of the Rangen terroir." Project maturity: 2004-2018+. Pierre Rovani

2004 Albrecht Riesling Cuvee Henri (750ml)

$32.00
Robert Parker 87
"Named for his grandfather, Albrecht's 2004 Riesling Cuvee Henri smells of sage, almond extract, raspberry, and a hint of mothballs -- high toned and almost eaux de vie-like in its penetration. Bright and well-focused on the palate, it carries its message of herb and red fruits into a satisfyingly long, savory finish." David Schildknecht

2004 Albrecht Riesling Pfingstberg (750ml)

$40.00
Robert Parker
"The domaine's 2004 Riesling Pfingstberg shares its high-toned, distilled fruit personality with other Albrecht Riesling cuvees, plum and almond dominating in this instance. A clear, polished, refined, analytically dry palate leads to a juicy if rather spare and brashly bright finish, tinged with fruit pit bitterness, salt and chalk." David Schildknecht
