Robert Parker 94+
The 2004 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard Cuvee Catherine Occidental Station boasts a glorious dark ruby/purple-tinged color as well as an extraordinary nose reminiscent of a Comte de Vogue Musigny Vieilles Vignes. Aromas of crushed rocks, violets, raspberries, sweet cherries, and a distinctive terroir character are present in this full-bodied effort. With oodles of vivacious fruit as well as wonderful freshness and palate penetration, this superb Pinot Noir should drink well for 10-12 years. Moreover, there are 1,000 cases.

Robert Parker 93
The late-released 2004 Pinot Noir Three Sisters Vineyard Sea Ridge Meadow (734 cases) shows gamey, meaty notes with hints of underbrush, gun flint, black cherry, and raspberry. It is rich, full-bodied, powerful, and quite long and heady. There is some tannin still to be resolved, but this wine should age nicely for at least a decade."

Robert Parker 92
The extroverted 2004 Pinot Noir Moonshine Ranch boasts a dense ruby/purple color and a big, sweet nose of blackberries, forest floor, dried herbs, raspberries, and sweet cherry liqueur. Dense, rich, and full-bodied, this is a knock-out, full-throttle Pinot Noir to drink over the next 7-10 years.

2005 Martinelli Bondi Home Ranch California (750ml)

Robert Parker 90
"the 2005 Pinot Noir Bondi Home Ranch Water Trough Vineyard shows loads of tannin, a greener, cooler character, with plenty of pomegranate, sour cherry, menthol, and forest floor. It tastes more like a Loire Valley wine than the typical Pinot Noir from Sonoma. Nevertheless, it has fine ripeness, medium body, and good underlying acidity."
Wine Spectator 92
Intense, ripe and fleshy, with rich currant, black cherry and wild berry fruit that's deep and well-centered, with hints of anise and cedar. Ends with a fruity aftertaste that's complex and focused. Drink now through 2010.

2005 Martinelli Zio Tony Ranch California (750ml)

Robert Parker 91
"The 2005 Pinot Noirs also showed well, with the 2005 Pinot Noir Zio Tony Ranch dark ruby with notes of pomegranate, sweet and sour cherries, a hint of spice, and a medium to full-bodied, concentrated palate."
Wine Spectator 92
Savory aromas of earthy cherry, earthen floor, mushroom and spice. The Pinot Noir fruit is pure, rich and focused on the palate, with a long, detailed finish. Drink now through 2011.

2005 Peter Michael Le Moulin Rouge California (750ml)

$165.00

Robert Parker 91-93
"The more restrained 2005 Pinot Noir Le Moulin Rouge exhibits more vibrant levels of acidity and elegance, but not quite the flesh, succulence, weight, or power of the 2004. Plum, beet root, raspberry, and earth notes are present in this beautiful Pinot Noir."
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 92
"Dark red. Sexy raspberry and blackberry aromas, with gentle spice notes adding complexity. Lush and sweet, with pure red and dark berry flavors unsullied by herb, earth or animal. Fresh and juicy on the finish, with a subtle hint of smoked meat rising on the back. This is very elegant and balanced for cellaring."

2005 Rochioli Little Hill Block California (750ml)

Robert Parker 93-95
"There are 500 cases of the 2005 Pinot Noir Little Hill Vineyard. Reminiscent of a Russian River version of a top-notch Richebourg, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple hue along with scents of roasted meats, kirsch liqueur, blackberries, spring flowers, and spice. About 50% new French oak is used, but it is completely absorbed by the wine¿s wealth of fruit and texture. Kudos to Tom Rochioli, one of the wine world¿s great guys who, without any fanfare, continues to turn out world-class wines of extraordinary aromatic and flavor dimensions."
Wine Enthusiast 94
So young and immature now, but showing tremendous power, this is great Pinot Noir. It¿s simply not ready yet, a little heavy, with fresh, zingy acidity, firm tannins and primary fruit flavors. There¿s a tough, lockdown quality, but what a core of fruit. The essence of raspberries, cherries, mint, cola, and such a silky texture. Cries out cellaring until at least 2009. Steve Heimoff

Wine- Maker Notes
Can't say enough good things about this wine - one of the real thrills of the vintage. We expect Resonance to shine. Phelps Creek is automatic. To have this vineyard step up to that level of quality is very exciting. Located at fairly high elevation in the Hood River Valley, 1600 feet, the grapes are able to retain higher natural acidity. The higher acidity gives the wine brightness in its youth and a better ability to age gracefully. That and great concentration of fruit (from 1.5 ton per acre crop sizing) have produced a delicious wine.

Color is a rich, dark garnet with a purple edge. A luscious bouquet greets the senses with ripe cherry, plum, and blueberry with added notes of mushroom and leather/spice. Aromas follow through melding with red and dark fruits, cardamom, anise, and sassafras. The complex and long lasting finish just keeps dancing on the palate. Our `05 AVR is showing well at this young stage and will continue to improve over the next 10 years. Total cases: 170
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 88
"Deep, saturated red. Seductively perfumed aromas of red and dark berries, fresh rose, vanillin oak and baking spices. Fleshy black raspberry and cherry flavors offer good depth and are enlivened by zesty minerality. Finishes sappy and persistent, with a note of primary berry skin. I'd hold off on opening this for a couple of years." Josh Raynolds

Stunning. Combines the fleshy opulence of a sweetly youthful Pinot with the balanced tightness and acidity of a young, cellar worthy one. No small feat! From a cool vintage in a cool appellatiion that's increasingly known for Pinot Noir, the wine is pale in color and delicate in the mouth, yet powerful in cherry-cola and spice intensity. Gorgeous now, and should improve for six years before slowly bowing out." Editors' Choice, Steve Heimoff

FineWine International
The grapes for the Porter Bass estate wine are farmed organically and biodynamically. Luke Bass, the winemaker, feels that grapes grown in this manner produce fruit that delivers more complex flavors in the glass. Based on this stunning Pinot Noir we have to agree. Here is a Pinot Noir that came be enjoyed young for its lively aromatics and exquisite balance but which will continue to develop over the next four to five years.
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 90
Bright red. Smoky raspberry and cherry, underbrush, herbs and dried flowers qualities on the nose. Medium-bodied cherry and red plum flavors are enlivened by zesty minerals and white pepper. Gains firmness and focus on the finish, which delivers a late smack of sweet red berries. Nicely balances sweetness against structure.

This is a beautiful, gently sloping three acre vineyard located west of the town of Fulton. The soil is shallow, well drained Huichica loam typical of this area, with a subsoil of clay mixed with gravel and sand, producing vines of moderate vigor. Bright garnet in color. Very pretty aromas of mixed berries, cherrywood, dark plum, butterscotch and cigar box leather mingle with a sweet herb/fennel note. Rich mouth feel with a good acid backbone. Sweet impression of raspberry, ripe plum, strawberry, cherry cola, with restrained oak and toast and added touch of violets expands across the palate. Long, complex and seamless finish.
