1966 Les Ormes de Pez (750ml)

$95.00

1966 Pichon-Baron (750ml)

$85.00
Clive Coates
Fuul, vigorous colour. Just a touch dense on the nose but mellow, rich and 'old viney' underneath. Fullish, just a little over-macerated and old-fashioned. But the fruit is very good and balanced. Lacks just a little class. Slight astringent at the end.

1975 Filhot (750ml)

$75.00
Michael Broadbent
Vintage Assessment: An outstanding vintage in Sauterne, among the finest wines of the decade. Spring frosts, hot dry summer, some welcome rain in September, followed by good harvest conditions including excellent botrytis and sustaiing acidity.

Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 89
The last vintage to include about 10% Cabernet Franc?.Sweet, supple, medium-bodied wine; vinous and alive, though not especially complex. But evolved nicely in the glass.

Wine Spectator 91
A very supple, generous, fruity wine that's charming to drink now but has the depth of flavor and balance for further aging. Oozing with fresh, ripe, lush cherry, currant, plum and spicy mineral flavors that are very deductive. The tannins are smooth but thick and rich enough for further aging. A style that combines early drinking fracd with medium-range aging potential.

1982 Ridge York Creek California (750ml)

$75.00

1983 Cantemerle (750ml)

$85.00

1983 Clos du Marquis (750ml)

$75.00

1983 Cos d'Estournel (750ml)

$95.00
Wine Spectator 91
"Dense and powerful with tobacco, cherry and vanilla aromas and flavors. Full-bodied and very firm with a long finish. Needs time; try after 1998."

1983 Ducru-Beaucaillou (750ml)

$120.00
Wine Spectator 87
Big and intense aromas of tar and black licorice; a full body with firm tannins that lacks a bit of charm at the moment. Needs time? Better after 1996.-
Robert Parker 88-90
This wine is exhibiting better overall balance than it did early in its life when its rough exterior led to doubts concerning its overall depth of fruit and balance. Although there remains a firm edge to the wine's tannin, it is nearly mature, offering a big, spicy, dusty, curranty, lead pencil-scented nose, and rich, medium to full-bodied flavors. The astringent tannins are off-set by the lusty alcohol in the finish.

1983 Jaboulet Cote Rotie Les Jumelles (750ml)

$65.00

1983 La Jota Anniversary California (750ml)

$85.00
Wine Spectator 90
Firm, crisp and tightly packed with ripe cassis and chocolate flavors, balanced to the tart side but there's plenty of fruit and enough tannin to balance it.

1983 Prum, S.A. Wehlener Sohnnehr Auslese (750ml)

$85.00
Robert Parker 91
"A wonderfully ripe, rich, luscious wine with deep, well delineated flavors?."

1983 Rausan-Segla (750ml)

$95.00
Robert Parker 90
"Fully mature, this seductively rich wine offers a knock-out nose of spring flowers, black fruits, smoke, and roasted herbs. Expansive and round with a velvety texture, real opulence, and low acidity, this concentrated, deliciously layered and intense wine reveals no hard edges. It represents the beginning of Rauzan-Segla's rebound in quality. Anticipated maturity: Now-2008."
Michael Broadbent 4 *
"Good wine. Firm, good flesh, stylish. Gentle fragrance. Good flavour and grip. Best I think in the early to mid-1990s."

1983 Simon, Bert Serriger Herrenberg Auslese GK (750ml)

$65.00

1983 Suduiraut (375ml)

$95.00
Wine Spectator 88
Delicious and balanced, showing exciting earthy, white truffle flavors that add complexity to the honey and spice notes. Medium intensity.
Robert Parker 87
This looks to be a good Suduiraut. A medium golden color, with a very honeyed, rich, floral bouquet, this full-bodied wine is not as profound as the other 1983s. Sweet, with fine honeyed flavors, this is an elegant, graceful Suduiraut with plenty of character. However, given the vintage, I had expected even more.

1983 Torres Gran Corona Black Label (750ml)

$95.00
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 91
Subtle, reticent nose combines spicy oak and roasted meat. Lovely gamey sweetness in the mouth, with sound acids and a spicy character. Full, ripe and quite long. (Tasting note from March/April 1996)

1983 Wil. Freudenmacher Erben Ungstein. Herrenberg Eisw (375ml-12pk)

$90.00

1985 Ballot-Millot Meursault Les Criots (750ml)

$55.00
Wine Spectator 88
Earthy, buttery, toasty, a rich, flavorful wine with enough pear fruit and honeyed spice to make it interesting, yet without too much weight. Vivid, well crafted.

1985 Heitz Bella Oaks California (750ml)

$95.00
Wine Spectator 92
"Powerful and complex, with lots of ripe cherry, currant and spice aromas and flavors, hinting at chocolate and toast on the long, long finish. A big wine with plenty of grace and elegance. Approaching drinkability, but it has the structure and character (3845 cases produced)."

1985 La Gaffeliere (750ml)

$75.00
Robert Parker 86
The 1985 has a full-intensity, spicy, herbaceous, richly fruity bouquet, medium body, soft tannins, and a supple finish.

1985 Pesquera Tinto (750ml)

$75.00

1985 Sociando-Mallet (750ml)

$80.00
Wine Spectator 91
Another super wine from this cru bourgeois. Fresh and fine with tasty vanilla, cherry and spice character. It's full-bodied, but medium in tannins. Long, fine finish.

1986 Mondavi Reserve California (750ml)

$95.00
Wine Spectator 95
"Showing more complexity now than the '85, with tough, concentrated tannins and a rich yet elegant core of currant and spice. Classic."

1988 Burklin-Wolf Wachenheimer Mandel. Scheurebe BA GK (375ml)

$75.00

1988 La Jota Anniversary California (750ml)

$85.00
Robert Parker 88
In spite of the lofty price, this wine ranks as one of the best 1988 Cabernets I have tasted. Impressively dark ruby/purple-colored, the nose offers aromas of black-cherries, spices, herbs, and toasty oak. In the mouth, there is excellent richness, full body, moderate tannins, and the potential for at least 10-12 years of aging.

1988 Pfeffingen Ungesteiner Herrenberg Scheurebe BA (375ml)

$60.00
FineWine International
Beerenauslese classic.

1988 Rieussec (375ml)

$65.00
Robert Parker 93
The 1988 remains a very backward wine. Full-bodied and powerful, extremely rich and dense, it may be the least evolved 1988. The nose offers enticing coconut, orange, vanilla, and honeyed scents. The flavors are highly extracted. The wine's acidity and youthfulness suggest this wine needs another 5-10 years of cellaring. It should keep for 30 years.
Wine Spectator 94
Sweet, ripe and loaded with honey, toffee, carameland nutmeg-scented pear and apricot aromas andflavors. Generous fig and tobacco notes echo onthe long finish. A silky, supple, succulent winefrom France that should improve through at least 2000.

1989 Drouhin Gevrey Chambertin Les Cazetiers (750ml)

$95.00
Wine Spectator 91
Has lots of fruit extract, with wonderfully seductive, fruity aromas and flavors backed up by silky tannins. Drinkable now.

1989 Piedmont Filzener Pulchen BA (375ml)

$75.00

1989 Raymond-Lafon (750ml)

$95.00
Robert Parker 91
The 1989 exhibits aromas of honeyed pineapple/tropical fruit and toasty new oak, as well as an exotic, flashy perfume that is not as pronounced in either the 1990 or 1988. The 1989 exhibits less botrytis than the other two vintages. The wine possesses an opulent, full-bodied, exotic, lavishly rich personality, moderate sweetness, and huge quantity of extract, glycerin, and alcohol in its finish. The wine is also extremely young and unevolved. Anticipated maturity: 2000-2025.
Wine Spectator 90
Stands out in this crowd because of its stylish lilac, violet, floral, rose petal scents that delight from start to finish; medium-to-full body and sweetness plus a long finish.

1989 Schramsberg J. Schram California (750ml)

$85.00
Wine Spectator 90
Everything you want in a bottle-aged sparkling wine. Bold, ripe and spicy, with honey, pear, nut and vanilla flavors that turn rich and creamy on the finish. Impressive for its finesse and concentration.

1989 Sociando-Mallet (750ml)

$83.00
Robert Parker 90
"The 1989 reveals a youthful, unevolved purple color, followed by a sweet nose of black fruits, minerals, and vanillin..Dense, rich, and concentrated, this wine needs another 4-5 years of cellaring; it should keep for 20+ years."
Wine Spectator 90
"Beautifully crafted, with subdued blueberry, mint and toasted vanilla aromas, equally fine fruit flavors and full, silky tannins."

1990 Caparzo Brunello Vendemmia (750ml)

$95.00
Wine Spectator 91
Wonderful Brunello that?s drinkable now. Beautiful and fruity, offering medium body, fine tannins and a long, caressing finish.

1990 Chateau de Meursault Clos des Epenots (750ml)

$75.00

1990 Col D'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino (750ml)

$90.00
Wine Spectator 87
Elegant tobacco, berry and mineral aromas and flavors, medium body and tannins and a silky finish. Drinkable now. Slightly disappointing.

1990 Eitelsbacher Karthauserhofberg Auslese GK (375ml)

$80.00
Stuart Pigott
"Outstanding."

1990 La Croix de Gay (750ml)

$95.00
Robert Parker 94
"As usual, this is big, thick and rich, showing loads of nutmeg, berry and ripe fruit characteristics. Long on the finish, with extremely velvety tannins. Has put on weight since our first barrel tasting. Drink after 1998."

1990 Laleure-Piot Corton Bressandes (750ml)

$80.00
Wine Spectator 90
Voluptuous, with loads of smoky black cherry aromas and flavors and velvety tannins.
