The quest for producing great Pinot Noir in California found a champion in Dr. Stanley Hoffman in the mid 1960s and 1970s. Working with the renowned winemaker, Andre Tchelistcheff Hoffman Mountain Ranch produced some 'world class' Pinot Noirs that are still talked about with great reverence from those who had the pleasure of tasting them back then. The HMR wines helped put Paso Robles on the map as a serious winegrowing region. Here is a chance to taste some California winemaking history for perhaps one of the last times.
