Araujo's Syrah Eisele Vineyard, which includes a small amount of Viognier, is a beautifully elegant yet full-flavored, authoritative Syrah that begs for attention. The nuanced, classic 2003 Syrah Eisele Vineyard (includes 4% co-fermented Viognier) exhibits a deep ruby/purple color followed by an attractive perfume of graphite, blackberries, chocolate, camphor, and cassis. Despite its power, richness, and concentration, it is a finesse-styled, silky-textured wine that should age well for 10-12 years.
