Opaque purple. Sexy, highly aromatic nose offers an array of dark berry and floral qualities, along with incense, Asian spices and dried violet. Rich and creamy, with vibrant blackberry and cassis flavors, velvety texture and bright minerality. Manages to be both rich and energetic, with outstanding finishing lift and persistence. This was fermented with 75% whole clusters.

The brilliant 2006 Syrah Walker Vine Hill Vineyard reveals sweet notes of white chocolate, creme de cassis, spring flowers, and hints of pepper as well as damp earth. Full-bodied with superb fruit purity, a multilayered texture, and a stunning finish, it should drink well for 6-7 years.
