| More of a finesse-styled St.-Emilion than many other wines from this hotbed of activity, the 2000 is the finest Berliquet yet produced. It exhibits an impressive saturated ruby/purple color as well as jammy cherry and cassis liqueur aromas, medium to full body, sweet tannin, a multi-tiered mid-palate, and a long finish. An elegant wine, it is a sleeper of the vintage. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2020. | |

| Excellent saturated ruby. Sappy, liqueur-like aromas of black raspberry, crushed raw cassis and espresso. Dense, bright and concentrated, with lovely verve giving the dark berry flavors a lightness of touch. The liqueur-like quality continues in the mouth. As ripe and dense as this is, it conveys an impression of finesse and balance rather than sheer weight. Really classic St. Emilion. Finishes quite long, with ripe, smooth tannins. |
