Tasting Notes
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 92
Deep, dark ruby-garnet. Potent nose combines red and black fruits, smoke and tar. Solidly structured and extracted. The tannins underpin and extend the flavors, giving the finish impressive density and length. The estate is technically outside of Chianti Classico, but by a mere few hundred yards. The wines of Aljoscha Goldschmidt, however, are easily the equal of those of many a famous name inside the zone.
Wine Spectator 92
A tightly knit wine, like fine cashmere. Subtle aromas of blackberries, minerals and cherries, with a smoky undertone. Full-bodied, with a good, solid fruit structure and velvety tannins. Very concentrated. A winery to watch.
