Fantastic nose of tar, spice, leather and mint and an equally imopressive palate with tremendous depth of fruit and real length. It will be better from 2007.
Wine Spectator 92
A super Syrah, with beautiful aromas of blackberry, black pepper and flint. Full-bodied, with lots of game, meat and ripe fruit and a long finish. Serious tannin structure. Needs time. Bosco is back with a vengeance. Made new in the town of Cortona. Best after 2005.

The 2001 Il Bosco, one of the few high level examples of Syrah in Italy, is a brilliant dark ruby in color with a nose of blueberries and blackberry liqueur on the nose, and much vanilla and sandalwood in its intense, penetrating aromatics. Sweet and round on the palate, its solid texture and depth are balanced by a richness of extract and a silky mouthfeel which are particularly felt on the lengthy, resonant finish.
